Building a business step by step

No matter what your stride, with enough steps you'll get there
I want to share with you my ongoing story about building up a successful online website business.
It started a few years ago when I was dabbling with a variety of business models including blogs, affiliate marketing, PLR and click-based ads.
I was motivated to supplement my day job income and, hopefully, replace it one day with income generated from my activities online.
Several internet marketers inspired me to keep on going even when the monthly income was nowhere near enough to cover web hosting let alone giving me some pocket money.
It has been a long road to success but I have finally turned a corner and now am looking forward to a year of growth - both income and wisdom to know which internet business models to stick with and which to bypass.
My advice is to:
1. Steer clear of the get-rich-quick crowd and the associated multitude of reports and membership sites on offer. All they deliver is empty promises of untold fortunes, all waiting behind their "buy now" button. The only ones getting rich are the people behind the scams.
2. Develop a clear set of goals regarding income, time spent working on developing and running the business and the structure/composition of the business. Write it down, put it on a whiteboard beside your desk. Refer to it often. Tinker with it to get it right.
3. Stay on course. No matter what anyone else says, once you have done your research and decided what is best for you, stick with your plan and vision and you can make it happen.
4. Act! Every day! Do something each day that builds your business. Make sure that it relates to something on your plan (see #2). Don't panic if you miss a day for some good reason. Get back on track as soon as you can. If a plan is the roadway to success then action is the vehicle that will take you there.
